Why owners switch

What we do differently for metal fabricators

Broader Carrier Access

Through PIB & Leavitt Group, we access specialized markets that generalist brokers don't even know exist.

Smarter Underwriting

We use Work Compare technology to benchmark your risk profile against top-performing shops in your class code.

Same-Day Certificates

Don't lose a job site because of paperwork. Our team turns COIs around the same day — guaranteed.

Bilingual Dedicated Service

Dedicated account managers fluent in English and Spanish. Your crew gets the same level of service you do.

Family-owned, metal-shop fluent, since 1977.

J. Cazares & Associates has spent nearly five decades placing commercial coverage for industrial businesses across the country — welders, fabricators, machine shops, and structural-steel crews.

We're not a call center. You get a dedicated, bilingual account manager who knows your class codes, your job-site certificate needs, and the carriers who actually want metal-fabrication risk.

Through PIB and the Leavitt Group, we reach specialized markets most brokers can't — and we challenge inflated experience-mod rates line by line.

Proof from the floor

Metal shop owners are making the switch.

“We were stuck with a high mod rate for 3 years. J. Cazares didn't just find a better rate — they found the clerical errors causing it and got them corrected.”

Owner

Inland Empire Fabrication

“The bilingual service made everything easier for our crew. And getting same-day certificates stopped the delays that were costing us job site access.”

Common questions from metal shop owners

Why do metal shops pay more for workers comp? +

Metal fabrication carries higher class codes due to elevated injury risk — welding, heavy machinery, sharp materials. But many shops are misclassified or carrying inflated mod rates from outdated or erroneous claims data. We audit both.

What's an Experience Modification Rate and why does it matter? +

Your EMR (mod rate) is a multiplier applied to your base premium. A 1.0 is average. If yours is higher — even from old or disputed claims — you're paying a premium penalty. We identify errors in your mod rate and challenge them.

How fast can you get me a comparison? +

Most clients receive a carrier comparison within 48 hours of submitting their info. If you need a COI same-day for an active job, call us directly.

Do I have to switch carriers to work with you? +

No. Our analysis is free and there's no commitment. If we find savings, great. If your current rate is already competitive, we'll tell you that too.

Do you work with metal shops nationwide? +

Yes. J. Cazares & Associates is licensed in all 50 states and works with metal shops across the country. Nearly five decades in the industrial market means we bring specialized fabrication-class expertise to your shop wherever you operate.
